AC Shadows Unveils Bizarre Attack on Titan Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a surprising crossover event that breaks usual predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Revealed
According to the official announcement, "A mysterious encounter leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where whispers of forbidden ceremonies and terrifying changes resonate through the obscurity." The storyline presents a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a clandestine cult.
The mission focuses on "bizarre tests and a fearsome adversary" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Metamorphoses
The trailer features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser concludes with a dramatic scene showing a character, likely the hostage, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Extra Content
Players who successfully complete the mission will obtain an unique katana alongside multiple items secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Special implements
- Survey Corps vehicle
Latest Free Story Content
This patch also brings the game's newest no-cost story content, titled "The Mystery." This humorous quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature techniques: Naoe introduces a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a original environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.
